Neat entry. The atmosphere and concept of connecting this large constellation one star at a time is really nice, and the music is simple but contributes to that atmosphere as well.

My biggest criticism is that some of the collisions and interactions are a bit funky. At one point I got the player caught on the corner of a ledge, and got stuck, with my jump exhausted.

I think a few additional mechanics could go a long way in adding variety to the drag-and-drop platforming gameplay.

Well done for 72 hours!

Nice!

There's some little problem with the collisions and the level design is not exceptional, but apart from that… That's very nice, especially in 3 days.

12 minutes, btw 😉

I don't think the way I was playing in the beginning was correct. I kept dragging all the tiles from the previous section, and so by the end I had like 20+ pieces I was just dragging around and making stairs with, but as each section had it's own pieces to use, I eventually dropped this approach.

Graphics were cute, especially the background and silhouettes, and the music was nice but did get a little repetitive by the end. Also the collisions were a little bit odd at times, with the moving platforms basically throwing me off haha.

I enjoyed it! The constellation preview in the corner is a nice touch that helps to see your progress!
The music is simple, but effective too!
Might need a bit of balancing because basically with 2 blocks you can beat the entire game, but for 72 it's very cool!
The end image is cool too!
Good job!

Neat little idea, even if you can abuse it somewhat by raising a platform up as you just to use it as an elevator of sorts. I liked the graphics and the music as well, good job!

I really like the mood these sort of pieces evoke. /spoilers?/ Also, there seems to be going some more going on? Is that the time machine from HG Wells book over in one corner? What is the effect one 'floor' up?

Physics are always a hard thing to get right, especially in a jam-game. For example I found that I could stand on the top of the three stars in the beginning just by jumping somehow. Also, at one point I found that I could get back up a ledge by repeatedly jumpng into the wall.

As for the 'actual' play …. this is going to be a bit nitpicky, but bear (ha, puns!) with me:

  • The player isn't the one doing the connecting, that is done for you by the game just by collecting the stars themselves. I think this makes the connection (ha!) to the theme a bit less relevant.
  • You can always get around to anywhere with just two blocks. It does feel like the other blocks are just in the way (maybe this was partly on purpose?) Especially given the finicky physics of the diagonally moving blocks, there's just not really that much of a reason to interact much with them. (Though maybe they have some use when people are really going for a high score?)

Lastly, I really love the way the beginning screen of the game doubles as the title-card.

Liked the style a lot and the graphics, really nice overall.

The mechanics of moving boxes to move around the level makes it really dynamic.

Wont submit a highscore, I collected all the stars, but didn't know I was supposed to time myself I guess? Or I missed a timer somewhere? :P

Overall, great entry.

The game looks good - I like silhouette graphics.

The game itself has just a little to much friction for me:

  1. jumps/collissions are a bit weird
  2. you could use two blocks to "walk everywhere"
  3. minimap does not show own position / already picked up stars.

A little polish might go a long way here.

The gameplay was interesting and I liked the unique way that the game depicts your progression as a constellation being drawn. The jumping controls could have been tighter and the music was a little too intense and repetitive for the medium. Overall, though, good job on this! :)
