it's awesome to have another smaller jam before LD! I've got some good ideas, and I wish everyone good luck!

I'll also participate in another jam (beansjam.de) that will start at the same time and will also run for 48 hours and combine the themes of both jams.

I'll be using Dart as a language and develop a HTML5/WebGL Game.

Other Tools I use may be Krita, GIMP and Audacity.

Hello everybody!

First time joining any jam so being a bit clueless…

I'll be doing an HTML5/JS app on a canvas, probably native JS or Processing (p5.js).
Graphics: Paint/Gimp
Sound: Audacity/Bosca ceoil

My goal is to finish a "prototype" for ranked.
Can't work on it all weekend, but worth the challenge!

Hi! We’re a team of students/gamers/cool people, working together for the first time. Yay video games :)

We’ll be using:
Unity
Photoshop
Aesprite
FLStudio
FMOD
Visual Studio
Google Docs
Trello

Miguel - Hello! I’m Miguel. This will be my first game jam I participate in. I work with music and sound design. I also work with Gamemaker engines. My best work is with 2D games I hope to learn more about 3D games in the future.but
John - I’m John one of the programmers on the team. I’m a student, I have some unity and game dev experience in the past. Very excited to make something for Alakajam this weekend!!
Elisha - I program video games! When I don’t do that I program things that aren’t video games at work instead. I started doing jams 2 years ago and now I can’t stop - send help!
Jessica - Hey! I’m Jessica. I’m a game development student and this will be my first game jam but have made a couple of games before. I will mostly be making game art. I mostly work in 2D using photoshop but currently expanding my knowledge on 3D.
Wu - General Programmer, 2D Artist, have 1 year experience working with Unity, can code and do art, have not done 3d games yet but willing to learn. Have knowledge of more advanced concepts (delegates, namespace, callback behaviour etc) in C# however need more practical experience to put them into use.
Dave - 2nd Game Jam, experienced 2D illustrator, learning graphic design and 3D. I like to put various media skills in art, writing, and video editing together and I look forward to working on a new project with new people.

I am entering the jam for the first time. I will be using Unity, sfxr, and free audio and assets for my unranked game.
Also, I have signed up for video-taping my development. I am not sure if I will add commentary or not…..

Of course I will join the next Alakajam!

Although some friends are celebrating their wedding on the next weekend, I will try and sneak some hours of awesome gamedev into the schedule.

I will be using Haxe and HaxeFlixel and probably aim for an HTML5 build. If I find time for graphics, I will use Aseprite.

Regardig the themes: I am awefully sorry that "little robot workers" as well as "giant robots" were eliminated during the voting phase. However, I see a good chance for some of the themes to do something at least related to robots. :D

Other than that, I am really looking forward to joining ths alakajam and of course to play all your awesome games!

gl, hf and of course: see you on the other side!

I'll join the jam if any of my top 4 selected themes is the selected one.
If I join, I'll use Unity, Blender, paint.net, Ableton Live, Audacity, whatever else is necessary.
Good luck to all the participants!

Hello! This is Sadale. Lately I've been developing a low-end portable game console with the following specs:

  • STM32F030K6T6 microcontroller with 32kB of FLASH and 4kB of RAM
  • 128x64 monochrome graphical display
  • Buzzer and audio jack with volume adjustment knob
  • 6 input buttons
  • SD card
  • 2xAA battries slot
  • GPIO header

The photo above is the second prototype of the game console running a demo breakout game. The game console is mostly completed with its low-level driver functions ready. When this console is powered up, a menu is shown for the user to select the game stored in the SD card to be played. Games developed for this console call the functions located in its bootloader to access its hardware-interfacing functions.

I'll be drawing PCB board for this product. This will be my first project involving PCB. After that, perhaps I would also draw a case for it.

But before that, I'd like to develop another game on this console. That's why I'm here! I'll be joining the 4th Alaka Jam!

This will be my first Alakajam. I'll be doing it solo. Let's see how it'd turn out! :)

Too bad! You guys probably can't test out the game I'm going to develop and vote based on that, because you can't run the game without the hardware. :(

A clear schedule this weekend, a good shortlist of themes, what more could I ask for? Worse weather, perhaps. Or my laptop back from the repair shop so I can work out in the sun.

Using Godot again, still not hating it. Also some of the usual suspects, depending on the style: Krita, Inkscape, Gimp, jfxr, Bosca Ceoil, LMMS, Audacity…

Hello! I am in and I am likely to create a PICO-8 game that I can also submit to the Monster Mix & Mash jam.

The themes from that jam are all spooky and halloweeny, so I am hoping for a theme that I fits. Or maybe I'll just make a game about miscommunications between vampires and ghosts?
