Kind of hard, but that's what makes it cool! Fun backstory, thanks! :)

Hey!

Nice backstory, as Aukadauma said. This actually remembered me of those racing minigames where we had that 9999 in 1 portable game thingy…oh, the memories.

Better luck with skiing next time!

Managed 4759 after getting into the SkiFree zone. The trick is to hit the snow dunes (there's probably a proper term for that?) every once in a while to keep the speed down.

The snowstorms/clouds are a neat idea for obscuring visibility and, while initially a tad annoying, do create a compelling challenge.

The graphics are stylishly retro. The audio fits the visuals, but doesn't really do anything out of the ordinary.

Good work!

I liked it, thought the difficulty was about right, this style of game needs to be hard to make it interesting. Brought back fond memories of playing an old c64 skiing game (slalom). I would have liked some lines to better mark the path area and keeping up your best high score (and or an online scoreboard) would have been fun to give you an incentive to try and beat your best run so far. Some suitably retro music would have been nice too. Bonus points for using your own framework.

Simple but effective! Nice retro graphics, good audio feedback, challenging without feeling impossible.
I could play this for quite a bit.

One of the coolest interpretations of the theme around.

Best laught of this jam! I'm so bad at skiing lol!

I liked the 8 bits vibe a lot, coherent graphics, sound and gameplay design, which is nice. The game is harsh and unforgiving, which was after all typical at the time :)

I really like the mechanic of obscuring the track, plus it just visually gives the feeling of snow blowing in your face.

My one criticism is that it doesn't really matter, because you're moving so fast that it would be equally hard if you could see.

Still the aesthetic is good and it's fun!

Pretty awesome work! I really liked playing it! I really don't have any observations apart from the ones people did before, yet, I would have liked to hear some constant background music, it would have engaged me much more!

Nice Job!

Excellent euSKI simulation.

That's all I wanted to say, other than it's a nice take on the theme and anyone that thinks the game is too hard just needs to put another couple of days of solid practice into it. This is like real skiing, you need to train before you can slalom

Played this for the 1st AKJ tournament. Deceptively skill-based. It's all about managing your speed. I think I did ok but then toasty scored 2x my score so there you go. Certainly matches the name as it's quite hard to see where you're going!
