Save the Pepelis

A nice educational pet simulator

Pepelis used to live in their happy land. They loved to play together and spread.
One day, you took them to an even better place where the sun always shine. Also with green grass, many trees, blue skies, a river with neat water and even a rainbow.
To improve their conditions and help them, you need to separate one from the group.

This is a must to preserve the species! :)

[DEVELOPERS ANNOUNCEMENT]

Something happened. We were watching the streaming where the theme was revealed. However, we were starving. So, as soon as the theme came up as "The last one" we turned off the streaming and went to get some food while thinking about our game.

After several hours, we realised that wasn't the theme, but it was too late :)

So, don't bother looking for a relation with "You can't see everything". Any possible relation you can find is a mere coincidence.

Thanks anyway! :D

Well, that is really a pitty. It is actually a really good game even tho it has nothing to do with the original theme. In our group we had the same problem, we didn't know what the theme really was untill it was published at the Alakajam! web, I guess its not really your fault guys…
Anyways, it was a great game and i really enjoyed killing thos cute pepenis. The graphics are really good and the sound of the explosion makes you want to keep murdering those blobs. Have a good one!

Btw, im definately calling that number.

Such a shame that so many hours were put into this with the wrong theme. The animations and level of polish is through the roof! gameplay is quite simplistic but i'm not complaining.

Everything about the game is so well put together.
Great work, nonetheless! :)

Thak you all for the comments!

Yurichan, Raindrinker, we chose to keep with the game because we thought it was a very fun (and educational) idea, so we rolled with it because of pure love. This way, not just a game, but a little piece of us is put in this submission. Everything for those little, squishy things.

This was truly educational! I loved to learn about Pepelis and help their endangered species.

Brutally honest, bloody fun game for the family!

But seriously though, I lost my shit when I started blasting the living fuck outta them hahahahah, this was so fucking good, even if you guys went with the wrong theme. Good job!

Well I know you guys accidently did it for the wrong theme, but I will say I definitely did not see that coming, so there's that haha.

I think the thing that stuck out to me, besides the brutal saving, was how incredibly polished that felt. Great job graphics and audio people!

Hahaha i expected a twist but not as fast and not as violent :D Very nice! I really enjoyed helping pepelis, anything for the nature. Shooting and bombing felt really satysfing and very polished effects. Gameplay is pretty simplistic but entertaining for 5-10 minutes. Graphics are pretty and i like how later levels become more grey and 'depressing'.

In overall it's a pretty fun game that is feels really polished, well done!

Ooooh that's brilliant, so your take on the theme was "I can't see how this relates to the theme"? So meta, very clever! 10/10 on Theme ;)

So… that's what it feel like to "regulate" the population of a species. It's strangely satisfying! The wonderful cuteness/violence contrast is prefectly done here. I impressed in particular by the art for the characters (of which there's a surprising variety!) and weapon animations/destructible environment.

I still wonder if the "tutorial screen" explaining 4 different types of pepelis had any actual meaning (I couldn't see if the choice of survivor had an influence on the next round) or if it was just a distraction.

I really like that all the colours started to become desaturated as the levels progressed! I think this is a really cute, short game. I wish the music was a bit less cookie cutter at the start, but I liked the voices.

That moment when you realize what "helping" means? Priceless :D "Wait...that just made them explode?! OH....OOOHH! Ok :3 " *BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOM*

Great take on graphics/visuals. The cute funny pepelis and the bloody agressive explosions make up a great contrast. Reminds me of LittleTreeFriends alot. :D

+1 for the super cute crying in the cage animation of the last pepel(i?). Please more of that!

From the file size, it looks like this was made in Unity. If so, could you please also make a Linux export for us geeks?

Thomastc, now Pepelis are also on Linux. Note that I have not tested this version, so feel free to feedback any strange behaviour!

wow that was kind of distrubing. Feels like it would have been a good entry also for "you are the monster" as a theme. Nicely done, the cute graphics and sounds pulled the heartstrings as they should and the attacks and explosions were suitable over the top and satisfying. Also it was balanced well to keep you clicking fuiriously to keep them under a control. I had to develop a weird 2 handed mouse technique to click fast enough :).
The super happy music also worked well. Simple silly fun.

Wow hahaha, I have no words, that was a really nice effort, everything is very polished, kinda cruel for me, but nice work!
