To be clear, the laptop on the left is my computer. The main monitor is just hooked up via HDMI cable.
Also, it looks like some of my themes will make it to the shortlist. :D
EDIT: My theme Always Growing made it.
Hello, I'm an hobbyist game dev and recent gamejammer. This will be my 1st Alakajam event!
I played around a lot with Unity, but I also started using other tools and I fell in love with pico 8 so I probably will use it for this jam!
Let's have fun and remember to stay hydrated everybody!
My background: I am an enthusiast programmer studying computer science and have been programming for 5 or so years so I consider myself very experienced. I have always loved the idea of game development but have focused all my efforts on the engine and graphics side, and have never actually made a game. So I would love to try and make an actual, finished game.
Language: C++
Text Editor / Compiler: Visual Studio 2017 Community
Engine: Citrus Engine (made by yours truly)
My artist friend will do the art.
This Saturday, members of Alakajam! will join the One Hour Game Jam held at 8pm UTC! Let's join our neighbor community for a fun evening of jamming, and so we can sharpen our tools before the Alakajam.

When | What |
---|---|
Before 8pm UTC | Prepare your dev environment before the jam starts, and join the fun on IRC or Discord |
8pm UTC | The theme is announced, try to make a super small game in an hour! |
9pm UTC | If all goes to plan (tip: it never happens), submit your game by the deadline. In practice most submit 30mn to a hour late, to finish something playable and publish it. Submissions are not closed until the next jam anyway! |
9:30pm… ish | @aurel300 and maybe @danaeplays will play your games on stream! |
No competition here, everyone is a winner for completing the crazy task of making a game in one hour-ish!
Gonna be my first jam ever, can't wait to crash and burn like never before!
Tools I'm gonna use:
Unity3d
Blender
GIMP
Tools I'll use if I can practice with them beforehand:
Bfxr
Audacity
FL Studio
Really, I have no idea what to do as far as audio goes, please let me know what's easiest to use. If nothing else, I will acapella all of my sound effects.
Hi everyone!
After a long time of "I won't be able to create something good or interesting" thoughts I decided to stop being that guy, that have 1001 idea and doing 0 to implement them.
So it will be my first gamedev jam, I'm really excited!
