An addictive and fun game. The controls were a bit floaty though.

I love this game. The little superman is so cute and the idea with blue/red power together with the animation is just stunning.
I submitted the first highscore and hope that more people will follow. .

I agree on the controls, but I really like the idea & execution, quite charming - just like its title screen

Thank you so much guys! It really means a lot to me :)
Yes I'd love for people to have a highscore battle here - bring it! ;)

Nice one! It became quickly addictive :) I felt like some level design patterns were a bit too difficult at times, but overall it's well executed and efficient!

@TomBuston you are right! The level generation would probably need the most work to fully flesh out.
Thanks for playing and also: Great Highscore!

Cute game, though sometimes a bit frustrating due to the sensitive controls.

Haha ->Johnny Depth, that joke. I really like the music! I can agree with the others that the mechanic to switch between blue and red is cool!

Nice little jam game. Color matching mechanics are always welcome in my book!

Really liked the artstyle and sound. Everything looks like a solid piece of game art.

Pattern generation is amazing, though it can create some hard shapes. Well done!

I'll neat pick, but moving left and right feels unresponsive (floaty). But this is just a small thing that really does not make the game worse.

Awesome entry!

Thank you all for playing and rating :)
And thanks for the feedback on the controls - if you play your own game too often, you tend to not notice these things as much ^^

It's an interesting concept and works quite well. I did find the controls very sensitive though, and I think it would benefit if they were dialed down just a bit. Maybe even using the mouse instead could work?

Graphics and music blended well, and the gameplay was tight and represented the theme. Overall, good job!

Hoo mamma, loved smashing the long sequences of alternating colours. Game felt frustratingly slow once you were familiar with the mechanics, would love the ability to speed up a little when things are going well.

Thumping tunes, fun titlescreen, great work!

Thanks @voxel, I agree that it should definitely get harder after a while, It would just have been too much work in the given timeframe to balance patterns etc for higher speeds ;)

Overall I enjoyed playing this, but there's some anoyances that snuck in:

  • I never fully got a hang of dodging, it always felt like I was negotiating with the keyboard… will this particular keypress give me too much or too little of a nudge in this direction? (Though this does get across the feeling of perpetually falling pretty well.)
  • When you press X, first the switching animation plays, and only then you're in the other mode. Maybe it's a good idea to switch at the start of the animation?
  • While on the one hand the parallax is a neat looking effect, it also feels a bit weird to me. The background layer is moving faster than the foreground layer, which is a bit disorienting.
