Combine elements together to produce different spells in this arena survival game.
Super Laser Wizard 3000 is a arena survival game where you play as a wizard who must use his mastery of the elements to conjure up great and terrible spells.
During gameplay, you can select two elements using the numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4, and then combine these elements together to produce a powerful spell based off of your choices. You can then augment the spell's strength by selecting either a light element (wind, water) to make your spell cooldown quicker, or a dark element (fire, earth) to increase your spells damage.
To launch the game, extract the zip file and find the .exe in the game folder.
Feedback is of course appreciated, be it positive or negative.
@ztuu yeah, we are gonna roll out a balance patch later today also with some major bug fixes. Thanks a lot!
@neverix I can't, right now, but i'll make sure to ping Baconinvader about it
The Disclaimer in the title screen after playing it "May not contain laser" killed me! XD
The music is really cool and I liked also the maps design!
I don't know if it's only me but tanks are like impossible to kill, after 2/3 minutes of gameplay I had like a flock of tanks following me!
One interesting tactics is to make them enter the labyrinth on the left and kill them one by one.
Casting a fire spell is really cool and gives the sense of power of that spell, so, in this sense, graphics and audio worked really well.
Good job!
@havana24 we are aware of the huge balancing issue. Just be glad you didn't reach the infinite ghouls bug. We are working on fixing it, so if you want to you can come back and play it after we've patched it.
The music is awesome and I like the idea of combining elements. I originally played this yesterday, and was going to mention the balancing, but the patch seems to have fixed most of it. However, it did bother me that the collision box for the poisoned bits of ground were bigger than the graphics, leading to the player taking damage when it doesn't feel like they should.
Pretty fun game with great music! It took a really long time for the enemys to spawn in enough masses to actually be a threat to me. A lot of enemys got stuck at the town part in the bottom of your map, this is why I could easily juke enemies chasing me into the town and then just kill them without being in any danger what so ever. A lot of the late game gameplay is just running away and collecting single mana orbs to slowly defeat the enemys, which kind of kind tiring. The game fit the theme perfectly and was really original.
All in all, a cool little game which could get really awesome if the problems in gameplay mentioned above are fixed.
The idea of the game is pretty cool, and I like the combinations.
The graphic and UX kind of pulled back the game imo. It's a bit hard to differentiate betweens different spell, and I still don't know what the red/green circle mean. Are they cooldown or mana?
Collision is a bit of a frustration as well, it's hard to detect where you can walk, so I got stucks in places all the time.
@ValdeTheAssetMan I mean the red/green circle that sometimes appear around spell icon (after you've entered 1 element). What are they?

Pretty cool game. I love the music and the art is nice.
It's a cool concept, I like all the combinations and how they have quite different effects. I don't think the UI showing the combos was big or bold enough, it blended in a little too much. But other than that the combo system was great.
The balance is a bit off but it always is with jam games. Fixing the spawn rate, mana rate and healing etc. could make it more enjoyable.
I think mana pickups should be worth more than what they already are (1?).
Overall a really solid game!
