Build your own robot from components!
Each robot component acts independently from others. Each of them has own hp & hitboxes.
So, you can attack enemy to any of them by aiming to it. If some of them are destroyed, you are deprived of its function.
Eg. if legs are destroyed, you can still attack. If hands & weapon is destroyed - you cannot attack. If Body is destroyed - well, it's weird, but you just have no body, but still able to move & attack :)
There are 2 types of weapon: melee & range.
Melee weapon - in case of applying it attacks in front of yourself at some distance
Range - in case of applying it shoots the bullets.
There are many components to upgrade. Each of them (but weapon) increases their hp. Also each has its own stat:
Hands - rotation speed
Legs - move speed
Weapon - damage & cooldown
AD/Arrows - moving
Mouse - aiming & attack
Thanks for feedback guys!
@ratrogue thats not a bug, it's intended, but not fully thought out. I had ideas to make all parts damage-producable, but had no time; or at least I should make restart at this point
@Colep yep, updates are buggy
@elZach yea, you right. Many parts of gameplay remained unfinished.
At first I liked the soundtrack, but the composition got a bit random and made the dissonant tunes appear accidental rather than purposeful. Which is a shame, the sounds are neat and the tune could flow much better. :)
Anyways, it's a fun idea and despite the wonky gameplay, you got all the moving parts (pun intended?) of the game you were going for. Like, it's not a given to also finish the shop system when there's a complex combat system to be built.
Interesting idea, I liked the different functions of the different body parts, it definitely adds some strategy to the game. I would have liked to keep my upgrades though, saving up gold didn't feel that worthwhile if anything I bought would be removed next round. Maybe make it so that only what is destroyed is lost?
@Kesslwovv
@Baconinvader thanks for your reviews! Upgrades are really errorneous :(
Yeah, wow, that's some dissonant music :D
It was bearable though. Too bad the upgrades didn't remain. I started with an enemy that had a gun against me. Without any upgrades I lost immediately because the enemy shot my arms off.
I get that arms are needed for attacking, but if the first thing you can lose is the ability to win, it should just end the match or something. Afterwards I got luckier with the very random AI and the random choice of weapon they had. I played some time but I didn't really buy anything else than the first upgrade of arms, so I have at least two hits to kill my enemies. After I had about 30 gold, I realised that anything more interesting like guns are way too expensive and I gave up.
Graphics are great and the gameplay kind of works. I can see the cool idea behind the flaws too. Well done!
It was funny how many fights I won after losing my head :D
Hah, that's a nice idea, somehow I had to think of One Must Fall. I like that the concept allows for different tactics - right now I like to go for the legs first. Wish it was a bit clearer on how to hit your enemy with the knife. Also more sense of progress would be cool, in regard of the enemies - they always seem to be much more powerful than my own robot.
Loved the bug(?) where both I and the other robot had no arms/weapons anymore, so we would just dance together endlessly.
Oh, and please make the music optional. ;-)
