Endless Jumping
Endless Jumping Game. Nothing new and a bit buggy
Known issues: not probably working platform-sound-effects and side teleporters.
Note: "R" for Restart
Tools: Unity 2020.2 / Aseprite / beepbox.co/ Audacity / Google Fonts
A big thank you goes to ElZach, who once again supported me with programming
Fun to play, but I'd recommend more squishing and stretching to emphasize on the jumps! It needs to feel really satisfying to watch your character getting hurled upwards. While the graphics are neat, the platform design is a bit 2-dimensional and could be more chunky and detailed. And maybe a visual feedback when you're warping from one side to the other.
Fun! Nice, fluid bouncing. At first I thought I'd have to hurry up, suspecting a time limit, but it turns out the only way to die is just to fall down. On my best run I ran into a situation where I couldn't continue anymore, it would have been nice to make it progressively harder but not impossible.
Fun and addictive game!
Like TheTacticalBanana I felt the movement a bit "slidey" at first, which sometimes makes you unexpectedly reach the border and teleport to the other side. But I got used to it after a few runs.
I also died on my best run because of an impossible situation.
Also, I don't know if it is intentional or not, but if you go through a blue platform, it will disappear even if you haven't bounced on it.
The quiet background music is very good, the art is simple and the game is challenging, I spent some time playing and I really liked it. I don't know why but I was unable to play directly on the Itch.io website, so I had to download it besides this, the only problem that exists is that the game is too short xD
Thanks for the comment and for trying to play my game, unfortunately we had problems and I couldn't publish in time, even for unranked, to be fair I deleted my attempt. I'll try again next time. Good luck!
Indeed, the game is a bit buggy, but I still enjoyed playing! Althought I am quite bad at it. ;)
I had troubles with the side warping, because if I pressed the other direction mid-warp, I would be stuck outside the playing field. Also, it seemed that the horizontal speed was quite high coming out of warp (or maybe that was because I was holding the arrow key). Because of this (for me) unpredicatble side warping effects, I was quite bad at the game and lost many times before I even saw that there were other kind of platforms. I didn't like so much that I had to start from 0 every time, because I just wanted to explore what would come next.
The collision detection seemed a bit off, often I would think that the player would land on the edge of a platform, but then it would fall through. Also, the player character seems to really like facing to the right. ;)
I didn't like how I had to use the mouse in two different places to restart (Or R + mouse), I would have liked to play completely with keyboard.
I enjoyed the music! I liked the art, but I'd like to see a bit more contrast between the cute player character and the background.
Overall, good job!
Fun little doodle jump game, only gripe i have is the player feels a bit "slidey" after you let go of the direction youre holding
