Between jobs, so I have a rare chance to dedicate a whole weekend to a game jam! I'll be implementing my game in Löve2d and, aside from some helper code I typically use in game jams, will be starting from scratch to make something small and complete. I'm hoping to make something simple, snappy, and polished, so my goal will be to complete the gameplay on the first day, and spend the second day entirely on assets and playtesting.
A friend and I are participating to this jam. We're two students in programming and not very experienced in jams but that's why we are joining. We'll most likely be working on Unity.
Also, we are looking for artists to help us creating the assets.
Thank you for reading !
Howdy, guys and gals! I'm here to have my extra dose of game jam (because it's so yummy). This will be my first solo jam, so the game will be even smaller than my previous ones (not here, on Ludum Dare). Also, it means that I will use the familiar tools and keep the visual design minimalistic. Here's what I got:
Sad thing is I won't be around full weekend, so I'll possibly take an extra day and stay unranked. Well, jamming is about having fun, not rank.
Have a great jam! =D
Hi guys
Just joined the 4th Alakajam! hope to make a great game with my friends!
I'll probably be in, alone or with some of my team mates if they're free. I'm a designer and audio guy from Belgium. I'll be working with Unity, Ableton Live and Aseprite or Photoshop. Enjoy the jam folks!
Ever since releasing our 3rd Alakajam! entry A.G. Hope, I've had plenty of ideas to expand it into something more ambitious. I feel that with some effort (towards replayability and content variety) it could get good enough to make me comfortable selling it.
So my goals for November would be:
I'm not sure how much time I'll have to work on the game though, so if I want to make it I should probably start straight away ^^
The November Challenge is an event in which you release and market a game or game related product during the month of November with the goal of making $1. The goal is to use (and hopefully improve!) your release and marketing skills with the goal of making money off of something you made!
Your product can be a game or anything game related. This includes tools, assets, etc..
The goal is to make money off of your product and learn about the release and marketing process. The amount of money earned is somewhat arbitrary, but if you want to set an amount, you can use 1 unit of your local currency.
People are encouraged to give feedback on each other's products. Even if you didn't buy someone's product, you can still give them feedback on their marketing efforts!
You can complete an old project or start a completely new one! The only requirement is that the project is released during the month of November.
As the name implies, it's during the month of November. (Nov. 1st 7PM UTC to Dec. 1st 7PM UTC) The 1st November Challenge will be held this November and hosted by me!
Im 80% in!!! I hope that I will be able to raise that to 100%!
I'm going to make it really simple!
I took part in Alakajam #3 so looking forward to this!
I'll most likely be using Unity2D with C#, pixel art software like graphicsgale amd beepbox.co for some chippy music.
However I've been learning blender recently so I'm tempted to push myself to try something 3D. I'd probably sacrifice having a game that isn't as good but be learning a lot more in the process.
I guess I'll decide when the theme is released!
Good luck everybody!
