Spent my entire day thinking up ways to improve the game's preformance stability and made some more sprites.
I can't believe I didn't Jam before this. This is loads of fun.
Also learning a lot in the process.
Todo:
Character animation
Obstacles
Death
Enemies

Purchasable Powerups
2 down, 4 to go!
Hi everyone !
let me introduce you our "worker" in the game !
Here a little update :
I just have a few more world gen segments to finish. After that, I have add eye candy and audio.
The gif recorder added a white bar to the gif because I had to change the recording area while I was playing since I got a vision powerup.
If the gif is taking forever to load (it's 8MB), click here for the MP4 version.
It's Screenshot Saturday so take a look at my team's (work in progress) game!
Not something I'd usually go for, sidescrolling plaforming, but out of all the ideas it seemed the most functional and elegant.
The falling bits are still missing, mind you.
Graphics are coming in by team member 2! Higher quality than my usual outings, I'd wager… To save my life.
Submitted without comment.
Anyway. I'm working on a PICO-8 game based on an idea I had ages ago. I have many extensions in mind, but really trying to just finish the core gameplay for now. It's a game about winning.
I'm here! I'm working with Twine for this jam, so when "falling" was announced, I was stumped. I was still at work for a few hours at the beginning, but by the time I got home I had a basic idea of what to do.
Progress so far! Since Twine is text based, I'm not using any graphics (or sound), so I decided to get a sense of "falling" by using a timer. The player will have between 30-60 seconds to get through what parts of the story they pick and then see where that gets them when the game ends. I'm inspired in part by Queers in Love at the End of the World.
It took me a few tries to implement a timer, made even harder since I had limited access to the internet yesterday. The way I initially wanted to use the timer didn't work with how the Twine format works, but I have a timer now and it's functional, which is what matters!
Been going at it for about 10 hours including breaks and quite happy with what I've done. I'm still learning Unity, programming and 2D stuff. For some reason 2D seems to be much harder than 3D coding wise. Anyway here is a short video, apologes for the background music :P

Our project is (if all goes to plan) a mix of an action & a strategy game, when we control a young Ares. His father Zeus having gone asleep, he takes his chance to wage war on Earth and turn all Zeus worshipers into his own!
Apart from the "falling asleep" take on the theme, we'd like to make the player jump back and forth between Olympus and Earth frequently in order to plan his tactics from afar, then jump into the action and fall on humans in a devastating attack :P
On the right is the current art progress. Yes I'm late, very late D:
