I used to kill at this game back in elementary school, back when they were real cards. I really appreciate the references to 90s things (Crash, Pokemon, Tomegachi). If anything, I wish there were more references. This game has many repeats which makes the game much easier, but more images would have been fun.
Nice little game, with so much love put into the references! I realized the game has actual replayability due to it having more cards than can be used on a single game… Here are the ones I figured out:
Some I didn't get like one of the action heroes, the yellow smiley, the gargoyle or the devil (South Park maybe?).
The memory game itself feels like a 90s game so it fits well. Only downside (depending on your art skills) is the art style overall didn't seem to aim for a specific retro look. The randomized colors in the environment was a fun touch though.
Also I wish I could play against an AI, I feel it shouldn't be too hard to implement!
Nice job overall, especially with the funny little cards :)
Nice and clean implementation of the classic board game. It would be better to show the turn change more clearly to minimize human error.. The music is great for a game like this. I don't know if I'd rate this very 1996 though. I get that the images are from the 1996, but it feels a bit shallow.
