Even robots can feel lonely at times
[Premise]
You're playing as Barney, a small and lonely robot living in the outer space. He has never had any friends, but now, as he found a magnet floating in space debris, an interesting idea brew in his mind…
[Goal]
Stick friends, repulse asteroids. As easy as that.
What about winning? Well, life's not about winning, life's about finding friends.
Have fun!
[Controls]
Hold left-click — move
Hold right-click — change magnetic field type from sticking to repulsive

[Notes]
Post-jam Bug Detection Squad™ has detected that asteroids don't spawn, magnetic field is malformed and parallax background has some flickering issues. Yikes.
We're working on fixing the bugs in our spare time in accordance with Alakajam! competition rules.
Nice arcade experience but I would have wanted something more. The music was good but the loop was pretty short. Art was great, if you had alternate sprites when the zoom level went far enough it would have worked better.
It got really laggy at the end for me as well, did you make a pool for the objects? Felt a lot like garbage collection problems to me.
Nice entry! Hope to see you again :)

Thank you very much for your feedback! We've made post-jam changes to fix most of the addressed bugs and have a few more left to go, albeit not everything can be fixed right now in accordance with Alakajam! competition rules, so a few issues e.g. music mixing, lackluster performance will have to wait.
@heyheyhey
I love that you've noticed our focus! We specifically wanted to make a nonviolent game.
@M2tias
Great suggestion with the alternate sprites! As for the performance, we will certainly take a look on how we deal with the objects sticked to the player. There really might be some garbage collection problems, so thank you for your insight.
A nice relaxing little game. I liked the premise and it felt satisfying to collect friends, however the gameplay was fairly easy and did get repetitive before too long. Also if you go far enough the background starts glitching and the lag makes the music start to break, but to be honest that just added to the appeal for me.
I have so many friends now :') Reminds me of an old Ludum Dare entry that I made six years ago with a couple of friends, but that was more violent and had way more physics glitches :)
This game rests on a hopeful premise. It’s good to see something without destruction and violence. Also, I like the art design in this game very much. The music is upbeat and fits the ambiance well enough; on the other hand, a bit of variety in the soundtrack would help. You could turn this into a solid game with colliding asteroids and other menaces.
