I am still learning how to use Unity, so Unity will be my engine
And I'll be using Gimp for image manipulation.
Currently, I am trying to mimic tutorials,
Hopefully, I'll be able to create a playable game during the jam.
Wow! So happy I found this. I previously joined Ludum Dare and was so happy with the experience, I can't wait for the next one. Thankfully, I found Alakajam!
So here's my toolbox:
My rule number 1 is keep is small and simple! A straightforward but extremely hard to follow rule. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish a complete game!
Hi! My name's Gabe! I'm really exited to particiate in this jam for the first time. A friend of mine has done the alakajam since the start and recommended I do it to, so here I am.
I haven't decied what engine I'm using yet, it depends on the game I decide to make. But I usually use Paint.NET (went back to it from GIMP) for graphics, and SFXr for sounds.
I might stream the process (depending on how busy I am outside of the jam). I only have one monitor so I'm not sure how to set it up comfortably, but I'll figure something out!
Anyways, happy to meet yall!

Hey folks, another ludumdare refugee here.
This is my first alakajam, here's what I'll be using:
I'll be using the web port of my engine, which compiles to js/webgl via emscripten. I don't have time to sort out webgl 1 support so I'll be stuck with webgl 2 for the jam. I mean technically webgl 1 support is there, but it relies on a lot of extensions that not every implementation has (looking at you, safari >_>)
(oh and if the "no ui" theme wins I'll commit seppuku!)
First timer on Alakajam! Have attended Ludum Dare before but been some years since my last game jam.
Can't wait too get started, cheers :)
Will be using
Concept: Pen, paper

I'm a developer and work from home, and this is where the magic happens! It's a bit messy but I had to keep it real to my nature hehe.
I don't really know which technologies I'm going to use, since it's my third jam, but I'll probably end up using Phaser as I have some experience with it. I'd also love to make something with multiplayer features for this jam, but I'm still coming up with ideas about how to do it.
For audio I'll probably try to learn how to use Bfxr and Bosca Ceoil.
I'm also pretty bad at art, so I usually try to avoid it as much as I can. We'll see what happens!
So I figured I'd share some initial ideas on the themes that have been shortlisted.
I'm working with the extra constraint that the engine I'm building has been specially optimised for isometric gameplay. I imagine this would work best with RTS, RPG, Sim or 4X type games. That's cool, though, because I enjoy those kinds of games anyway. So my thoughts are around what can be done within those genres, as far as I can tell so far.
Any other ideas? I'd be curious! I've put the ones I'm struggling with the most first. :)
