After the call

You wake up in a desert submarine, and try to find out what happened.

This game is based on HP Lovecraft short story "The temple".

It's more a story telling than an actual game (few choices, no playing challenge), but we think the experience is enternainting.
After playing the game, we recommand you read the book and understand the big picture ;)

The link currently gives a 404 :-/

But the screenshot looks promising, I'm looking forward to playing this game.

I got a 404 too.
You've probably got your itch.io page still saved as a draft.

A great idea for a jam game! The atmosphere is great and the gameplay loop satisfying. The controls and movement could use refinement, especially the way the character jumps when letting go of the up button.

I remember listening to the story as an audiobook. I appreciate your take on a narrative game. A climb - ladder animation would've been preferable to the jumpmechanic I think.

Nice mood, enjoyed my time.

Your game inspired me to finally start reading Lovecraft. It's really atmospheric and gives some chills because of the audio and story. I think it's really cool game for the jam, well done!

I'm not sure this is supposed to work this way, but after flipping the switch (it says I should now be able to see) the game remains completely dark.

Well, you're not supposed to get a fully dark screen, but more like something like this :

Which browser did you use ? Can you try with another one ?

Hi, I got it to work in Chrome. (the screenshot was from Safari/macOS).

I really like this game. Very atmospheric, both visuals as well as sound design. Would have loved more content.
You know, you might be on to something here. Perhaps this game can be expanded?
(if you decide to expand on this game, please make the jump mechanic more intuitive ;))

Thank you for your feedbacks, it's greatly appriciated.

We didn't really had time to create a "climb to ladder" mecanic, so we stuck to the jump mecanic even though it's not really convinient.
We will correct it for a post gamejam release :)

As for expanding the game, we have some ideas :
scenario with sereval choices,
add some puzzle mecanics (ie : find a key to open a door, combine objects…)
a deeper story…

Cool storytelling. I found moving up ladders to be quite difficult, but that's never an easy problem to solve. Really enjoyed the attention to detail in the sub, someone really put some effort into this. Audio is very nice too, a really well made entry

The sound fx really helped set the erie scene, if you put a jump scare in there you woulda had me for sure! Great story telling.
