I know i need a little more practice, but doing this game make me feel i can get there someday.
Thank you for all support and i hope you all enjoy.
See you later next!
I loved the mechanic. Simple and straightforward. It took me two rounds to figure that you actually have to use the magic corresponding to the golems color.
The color detail are subtle which make everything harder. I guess you could tweak a little bit to make they more easily to be spotted.
Increasing difficulty over time feels great. I don't think you actually need four spells. Two spells with that amount of enemies coming feels challenging enough.
Graphics are ok but definitely other game details beats the necessitiy of great graphics.
Awesome work.
I really like the style of the golem sprites (being somewhat partial to vector art myself, heh). I didn't understand at first that the golems were trying to get to the top of the screen, so I was confused about why the game was over so fast -- I did eventually get the hang of it and managed a score over 100, but that might be something to consider putting in the description or a tutorial etc. Congrats on the submission, finishing stuff is the biggest challenge! Keep at it :)
Nice game ! I liked the graphics, I think adding a sprite for the spells would be nice (+ some particle effect as a trail perhaps) because it feels a bit weird for it to be a rectangle when everything else has an actual sprite.
It definitely coul use some sfx, even something simple could be a great addition I think (if you don't already know it check out bxfr). The music is mostly okay but repetitive and sometime it does sound unpleasant.
Gameplay-wise the two types of golem are interesting (although shouldn't the ice kill the lava dudes and the lava kill the ice dudes ? they are weak to their own element ?). It is true that I didn't get the point of the healing spell and the dash one is pretty optional. A bit more variety could be nice since it gets a bit repetitive and of course as often with jam games it could use a little bit more juicyness (but I know it's hard in 48 hours).
Anyways great job on finishing a game, keep practicing :) !
Hello Ashtrail. Thank you for the comments. I tried to put some particle effects but couldn't do that the way i thought.
Actually the Q spell refill your energy for all the other spells and was projected to recover player's health points but i ran out of time to make the system.
I realy liked the content about juiciness.
Thank you again.
A very basic ability-based defense-shooter competition with a thematic skin.
Functional interactivity. Switching weapons to target different enemies and running at times; nothing out of the ordinary. I would have liked the spells to be more magical, rather than the usual heal / weapon 1 / weapon 2 / sprint.
The visuals are colorful and informative. The golem looks very menacing from the front, too bad they turn their backs to the camera! There are some missing assets (spell sprites, golem death animation, particles?) and the font is stock standard. It takes only a few minutes to find a free custom font and it adds a lot.
The music is ok, but the loop is very short. Also it doesn't stop when retrying, which results in multiple tracks playing at the same time. Additionally a few sound effects, even if quickly generated with an sfx-tool, would have improved the feel of the exercise.
In conclusion: You finished a project, everything works; it's very simple, but that's fine.
There's a lot to learn, keep at it!

Not quite sure what Q does for you as it only takes one golumn to defeat you. The color matching part of the game was not clear at all at first and the golumns weren't clearly different from each other until I knew I had to look for it.
