GrowthLabs

You drank a potion that made you grow! Luckily your tech is super cool and can revert growth!

Hey!
This time was worse than last time -3-
Work got in the way and stress and stuff so forgive me if its too short

Controls:

  • WASD to Jump and Move
  • R to restart (very important its very easy to get softlocked)
  • Nothing else

You accidentally drank a growth potion and you need to find a cure

Note:
I'll try to make it longer as soon as I have the time! I have many features already added but not shown…

Nice use of the theme. Although it was short, I like the ending.
Well done. x)

Simple, but a very original concept. It feels like you are just barely scratching the surface of what you can do with this mechanic, but I really like what you have. Also, as was mentioned by others, that was a great, creative way to end your game! I would love to see how you develop the mechanics further if you decide to continue development!

Graphics were super cute, the game plays well and I liek the mechanic.

Fits the theme well, super cute and I like the different puzzles to use the grow mechanic you came up with.

Can't really criticise to be honest. It isn't immediately clear what each type of block does but you work it out very quickly with trial and error which I like in a game.

Great submission!

A nice little platformer! We had a similar idea at first but scrapped it in the end.

With cute graphics and simple but effective levels it's an enjoyable (yet short indeed) experience. You have a good ending so when I played the game it ended with a smile :)

I would love to play an extended version of the game to see where the concept can go.

Simple thematic gimmick. Surpised I haven't seen this before in any of the other jam titles. Originality points there, I find that hard to believe too!

The visuals are very standard, seen this type of greyscale pixel work time and time again. Few points there.

I'd actually say SFXR generated sound effects are not much better than silence, that's just me though. Very few points there.

Most important bit last, interactivity. Suprised again! The basic movement is slippery and slowish, but the growth mechanic makes up for that. I feel that there's much more mileage left in it, worth doing some digging, yes?

Oh and the ending is funny. Ok work as is, more design needed.

Lovely elegant art style - having a few ornate decorative elements is just enough to give the environment some personality.

There's not much to the audio, but at least it is there giving feedback when events occur, which is important.

The growth mechanic is clever, but there wasn't really any point where I felt it provided a challenge. However, the levels you have would not be much more than the introductory tutorial levels in a longer game. I can't really imagine where it would go - but if you had ideas it would be cool to see them implemented.

Nice little game overall, good work.
