In Towers Of Alchemia you have to defend your lair against minions which wants to steal your magic secrets !
You have 3 elementary towers to do that !
But of course there is a rule : Each element beat another and is beaten by another one.
Here you can find an helper :
Fire > Earth
Earth > Water
Water > Fire
So for example, you need to have a fire tower to kill water minions and so on ! ;)
NB : You can find a spriteSheet on the game folder witch show you relation between elements :)
NB 2 : This is a game from a GameJam (Alakajam #1) so it's missing a lots of elements for making him really fun to play.
Yeah, audiovisually solid and overall pretty fun for a bit.
As already mentioned it is way too easy which I can sympathize with since tower defense games are incredibly hard to balance. I wonder if there was supposed to be a mechanic about towerpositioning since the towers seem to have a different color when placed next to certain others, that would have been way cool.
Clever take on tower defense kind of game. At beggining you have to pay attention to what kind of enemy is approaching and build towers accordingly. But when you have enough money you can just make enough towers to just don't really care about that anymore, it's shame that different elemental towers mechanic wasn't pushed further but that's understandable due to the time limitation. Neat graphics. In overall pretty decent game.
Pretty fun, it threw me off at the beginning that nothing seemed to work, maybe it was because i resized the screen and, I could never really see the bullets. I restarted and worked better, got to level 3. As already said Just needs some balancing and make sure you don't make each level too long otherwise it can get boring, as it gets easier the longer it goes on for, I would reset the life at the beginning of each level and let player start from that level rather than the beginning. Overall good job, music and graphics were simple but effective (apart from the invisible bullets ;) )

Yes the game isn't balance at all i don't have increase the life of ennemy by time to get the more hard to kill…
So actually the game is boring…
The mechanics about mixing tower was my main goal yes but due of time limitation i fail to implement it well and the ennemies which come with it.

Nice Game! It is not that easy to get a tower defense game up and running during the limited time of a jam. I like the animations on the flames as well as the sound effects. They are simple, but yet effective. If you want to take it further, I could imagine adding some particle effects.

If you choose to go with tower defense in a jam, you better get the thematic gimmick in. Seriously, Tower Defense on its own stopped being interesting a decade ago (time flies doesn't it?)
It is a shame you ran out of time as combining different towers to create new ones is a proven concept, just look at Gem Craft. Currently it is possible to spam a huge amount of towers, resulting in no challenge at all and as such no fun.
All grind and no fun makes me a grumpy old man…
The graphics are simple, functional. Audio could use more work. And the gimmick, you better focus on it next time.
