You are an explorer trapped in an ancient ruin... can you unravel its mysteries?
You are an explorer that stumbles into the ancient ruins of a long lost civilization - just to find out that you're trapped now. Can you master the ability that a mysterious pendant gives you to find your way out?
The game tells you to use the "O" key at some point. This is in fact not the letter "O" but the pico-8 circle key, which is mapped to C by default (X and C are the keys used here)
I like this! the graphics and sounds are charming and you put a lot of thought into the puzzles, so they definitely feel rewarding when solved. I'm too impatient for puzzle games and would need something in between to stay focused, so with a bit more storytelling and atmospheric events I'd like this much more. However, for the jam, this is perfectly fine and well done.
Great entry! I took me a little while to understand the possibilities of switching to the other view with the pendant, especially with moving the crate. Maybe the crate should have been introduced a bit later? I really like this mechanic! I enjoyed the puzzles, although the last one was quite hard to execute, but I finished!
The puzzles where you had to time your drop or jump perfectly with the timer running out were clever, but pretty tough.
I enjoyed the graphics. Very well done! :)
Thank you guys for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
@DictorDro Yes, I wouldn't pick X and C myself, but those are unfortunately the default controls for pico-8 :) If you have the software yourself, you can remap the keys tho! (yay :D)
@Odrez good suggestion! I will try to improve on that front for the revamped version I'm currently working on :)
@Papaver
I agree with everything you said, it should have been clearer that you are able to push crates in the "past", especially concerning the short build up until it gets pushed - will think of a way to remedy this.
I like the idea of jumping back and forth through time and it made getting through the levels tougher ;) I like the graphics a lot and I can tell you put a lot of thought into that. I also enjoy that there isn't any music in the background , just cool sounds 😎 Good job, you should be proud of yourself 😊
Oh, super cool game! I really had fun playing it (and finished it!). Neat visual style, camera shaking effects and sounds. And of course concept, I felt ancient & magic athmosphere. Also it's pretty hard game, liked last level.
From cons I would pick inconvinient control : keys X and C are easy to confuse, so there are moments where I wanted one key but instead click another ;D
Anyway, very well done!
