Kudos for starting over and finishing another game in one day! Good job! I found the bouncing projectiles pretty interesting but hard to manage. I didn't read the instructions and thought that flashing was the "taking damage" animation. A health indicator would be a nice addition. Overall it was fun but pretty hard to tell how good I was doing.

Ah, thanks. I'll add HP amounts to the description. I wanted to add HP bars over the ships but it got a bit too complicated and I didn't plan for enough UI elements in the background :(

Alright, I gave Chaos Arena a good shake and played it for about 15 minutes. 8 Attempts in total, final score: 39 kills. The gameplay is pretty simple, it seems to reward to shooting much because before long the arena fills up with bullets - the majority come from you. The actual enemy ships barely pose a challenge, their AI is functional alright but they barly ever shoot and it's a pretty rare event for them to actually hit you. I ended up breaking the game by chilling in the top left corner, looking down towards the opposite corner and spamming the shit out of the X key: you easilly get up the 4-enemies-per-wave territory that way (the 39 kills). Without cheesing it I got up to 16.

The lack of health bars is a problem because you have no idea how much health you have. It was a real shame it's compatible with a USB NES controller, it picks up the left/right axis alright but not the up/down (wrong mapping most likely) and the A/B button (you only need one anyway). Perhaps a way to reset the game without closing it and relaunching the exe would be nice to. Web version did not work at all for me.

Serious cudos you restarted and made this with about 24 hours left on the clock. It's not easy competing with entries that have had essentially double the time you had. I'm giving you bonus points for that. Overall the game shows promise but is too easy to break, and the lack of challenge from the enemy ships themselves is what drags this game down most, I think.

Solid entry, especially considering the time pressure!

I loved the fact that the chaos in this game is pretty much self-inflicted (the bouncing bullets), and more often that not, your demise is due to your own mismanagement of said chaos (rather than a difficulty arbitrarily imposed by the game itself). With still enough opposition by the enemies to lure you into creating said chaos.

A visual indicator of HP was the only feature I really missed.

Graphics, sound and music came together fine, i loved the ominous tone of the background music especially.

"Bullet hell but all the bullets are your own." Definitely fits the CHAOS theme! This isn't exactly my type of game, as my score is in the single digits, but looking at the highscores some people seem to be having a lot of fun with it!

Controls are tight, rules are simple, graphics are clean and readable, there's some exciting music, what's not to like?

I like the idea of my bullets being the same as my enemies and bouncing for some time, so that I cannot blindly spam the fire key (or will have to suffer the consequences).

Maniability wise, I would have liked to be able to move backward. I can understand your choice as it leas to more difficulty, but it made some situations hard to navigate out of.

Nice to see a WegGL game!
