I liked the artstyle (colors, logo, characters, font…)
but the gameplay just wasn't on-par. For some reason I couldn't hit the enemies as well as they always seemed to miss me.
The music got a bit repetitive at some point.

Nevertheless, good job on finishing the jam!

Animations and character art are superb, which is why it's so unfortunate that the game doesn't really work for me. Even if I hit the enemy, which is hard to do because I don't know where the hit boxes are at all, there is not enough feedback to let me know that it happened. And it would be great if the screen could center more on the player; right now I have to walk to the right side to progress, which is not good when enemies come from there.

Hope to play an improved version of Love is Hell soon, because fighting with a scythe is rad. :)

(By the way, it crashes when I use the arrow keys in the main menu.)

The art, graphic design and animations are all incredibly impressive!

Like the other posters, I never knew when I was going to hit an opponent. At least when I hit something there where sparks. I'm not sure anything happened if the main character got hit.

Another annoyance for me was the camera… The view would only move when she was at the edges of the screen. Perhaps it's a good idea to keep the character in the middle (unless it's the edge of the level).

Given that there is music, but no sound effects… Did you know those are very easy to make? You can use generators like [bfxr|https://www.bfxr.net/] (Warning: Requires Flash)

I also encountered the bug where arrow keys in menu's gave a crash… perhaps the error message will help you debug:

The good:

• Gorgeous art
• Multiple songs!

The not-so-good:

• The camera only pans when the player moves to the very edge of the screen
• There are no sounds
• The song in the first level got repetitive fast
• Combat has no feel to it; can't tell propely when enemy is hit or when the player character is hit

All in all it's quite a nice little game that could be improved a lot with some small changes!
