What a Load of Pollocks

Instructions:

Once a fish is hooked hold space to reel it in.
If the fish starts fighting you release space or the tension gauge will rise.
If it reaches max the line will snap and its game over!

The tension gauge will also increase if you dont reel the fish in when you get the chance!

I also like the fish designs, but I have a few gripes with the gameplay:

-I ended up looking only at the text on top, as it told me when to press and when not. Thats a pity, as this way, I didn't even look at what the fish were doing. It ended up as a simple reaction game based on which text was shown on top.
-It would have been nice if there were other actions you could do. Don't get me wrong, I love a simple 1-button game, but you could have maybe implemented a difference between long press and short press?

Nevertheless, cool little concept and congrats on fi(ni)shing the jam! :)

I liked the cute pixel art, but the gameplay was practically non-existent. It essentially consists of staring at the top of the screen and pressing the spacebar when it said 'Reel' and releasing it when it said 'Wait'. I think adding a more subtle cue to the fish themselves would improve this game a lot. It would also give people the chance to appreciate the fish designs more.

The sprite art in the game is cute and the gameplay is solid. I think the game is too easy, partially because of the text at the top of the screen that tells you what to do. The game would also benefit from more variety such as different fish having different patterns or effects.

I really liked fish designs, they made me smile :)

Though after third one I started to feel that I can't lose. I think it's essential to have loosing condition (maybe I just didn't find it. If that's the case, then I'm sorry). I also feel that there is a place for some additional mechanics to make the process more random.

Anyway, it's a neat game and it has potential to become something wonderful. Keep up the good work👍🏼

Nice little game, the fish are all cute, it was a bit easy tho and the pacing is a big slow. I'm pretty sure the text saying "reel/wait" is unnecessary tho and I found it more fun playing without looking at it.
