Are you elite enough to break all the eggs ?
Click/touch tap in a direction to move or use WASD / Arrows
Sound does not play on web, the console is even filled with a bunch of errors, fun !
Built using libc 2.40, which may be a little too recent (not if you use arch btw), I'll make a build using an older Linux later
Build will be coming in the next few days !
heyy, it's a sokoban!
I played on web, so I am not gonna rate sound (I'm on windows as well, so no chance of hearing it)
the isometric look works well. I had to do some guesswork what the different things work and why little eggs can be smushed but can't be moved by bigger objects was logically a little weird but made for a good puzzle element.
In my opinion you really want some sort of undo or a way to restart a section. Just being stuck, especially early on without knowing what to do was somewhat frustrating. Especially because it's unclear if you need eggs to build a bridge or should just destroy them - this lead to a wary way of approaching the puzzles and scouting ahead, somewhat antithetical to the whole 'use as little steps as possible' as the UI implied.
In the end I had to backtrack the entire game for a single egg, that was left in the beginning. x__x
My favorite feature easily is stacking a row of eggs in front of you and pushing all of them along - really fit the ants can lift vibe. :D
Neat!
@Flechette:
Not TOO challenging I hope :D I'm finding it's quite the rage inducing game right now :)
@Cible:
Thank you :3
@Johan_Hullot:
Puzzle game for ya ! I usually do puzzle games to avoid avoid having brutality/violence/killing features, but yeah… I kinda end up doing it anyway :|
@elZach:
Yeah I learned on this jam that:
I would have loved to have more time on the actual puzzles, I should really make an editor next time, it would make mapping MUCH faster (I will probably make a post-jam version with an undo feature and a map editor).
@AaronBacon:
It's nice to not get self locked, but I should really implement an undo feature xD
I like that it's about creating a path by strategically destroying the eggs! I like the few sounds that are there (i use arch btw) but I do think it's a missed opportunity to not have more of them, like subtle sounds when moving maybe or when things are being pushed, it would add to the experience.
What the game would benefit most of is an undo button for sure, for me at least it's just too frustrating to accidentally take too many steps and softlock myself, or more often simply me being dumb, and end up having to relaunch the game… :x
I minded the controls much less than I thought I would, it's definitely not too intuitive at first (isometric) but I quickly got used to them! The mouse worked perfectly while I used it, though I ended up not using it much when I noticed how many eggs there were!
Finally, I have to say I like the visual concept! I like ants, so my own game almost ended up being about them, so I'm glad to see a game about them. Cute game name by the way!
So yeah, it's a pretty nice game!
Played the webGL build first. Mouse works great. I wouldn't even dare to try and play the game with WASD. Then I thought I should also check out the sounds so I tried the desktop version. Cool a native linux build! I liked the squish sounds but maybe it needed a bit more :D
Didn't make it to the end before failing but it was well done. Biggest issue for me was the teleporting and jerky camera started to hurt my head. Lerping the positions and camera when moving would make this a lot more enjoyable. Good job, loved squishing some eggs!
I get this game. But I locked myself halfway through and I couldn't make myself start all over again. I think if you had shorter levels that would be okay but with a huge level like this it's too much to ask.
Nice level design and good solid puzzle mechanics I think! I liked the way the platform would slowly rise as you threw eggs in the hole. Also I appreciated the fact that if you had a stone and an egg next to each other you could push both.
Challenging! I like it!
