Almost forgot to write this post because I didn't want to do it too early before the start of the jam but seeing as there are less than 12 hours 'till the jam starts, now seems like a good time to write it.
This is my second alakajam and maybe fifth jam. I've been learning to better utilize time with each so I hope to make something good this go round. As for tools I'll be using the löve2D framework. Graphics will probably be done in Gimp but if I have time to do anything more than pixel art I'll probably use FireAlpaca.
I've participated in 12 LDs so far and now I'm finally in for my first Alakajam!
I'll be using Dart and my framework dartemis and a library to generate some base/boilerplate code with.
I'm in for my third Alakajam (feels like home around here). This time I've teamed with @dollarone, @kyle3wynn and @toasty. I'll be doing the art.
I expect I'll do all my work in Pyxel Edit but if the design calls for somthing hi-res I use Clip Studio, and anime studio or Spriter for bone rigged animation. Goodluck to all you jammers out there.
I'm in!
Engine: GameMaker Studio or Construct 3 - not sure yet
Art: Aseprite
Sound: sfxr probably
Music: some procedurally generated crap most likely
I'm excited for a weekend of sitting on my computer! Hope everyone has a nice time!
This is my second GameJam ever, and second Alakajam. My first one i came about 40th, im hoping to best that this time.
I will be using:
Unity - Engine
Photoshop - Graphics
Blender (if i go for a 3D game)
Bosca Ceoil - Music
My top three themes are:
Alone in space
Thievery
No UI
Haven't done a game jam in years… Going to see if I can complete and compete for this one…
I'll be going solo, and most likely using PICO-8 for my dev environment.
Good luck everyone!
Hello!
This is my first Alakajam I'm participating in. I've participated a few years ago in the LD jam with my fist game i ever made (it was awful).
For this jam, I'm using:
Hopefully I'll manage to finish the game, considering i've got exams almost every day next week.
Greetings!
Myself and @legthief will be joining in this one. It's been a few years since my last jam and this is our first Alakajam… should be a laugh!
We'll be keeping it nice and simple, using:
And if anyone has any suggestions for a solid procedural music generator then we'd be eternally grateful :)
Best of luck to everyone!
I have tried to enter a number of game jams but I am yet to complete one to my satisfaction. My main problem is scope, because I am mostly a 3d artist and I try to make a fully 3d game each time. I have peen practicing with some simpler 3d styles and hopefully this time around I can make something worthwhile within the time limit.
I use Blender and Maya LT for 3d modelling, Substance Painter and Photoshop for texturing and Unity for the game engine.
Attention model sculptors and pixel miners! @dollarone, @kyle3wynn and I are teaming up for the jam but we're still looking for someone who can make it look beautiful!
Let us know in IRC or on crowdforge if you're interested :)
EDIT: Welcome aboard, @James_Deans_Jeans! :)
