Hello all! I've been on a dev hiatus for quite some time between job transitions, but I'm finally buckling down into some game dev!
This is my most recent of older projects that I want to get back into developing. I would love some feedback for what I have already :)!
Excellent little thing. I love that it is short (I hope you take that in a good way, because it is meant that way). I love the music.
I wasn't excited by the game play on the first level, and from that expected to be bored by the game. If it weren't for the fact I was playing for Feedback Fortnight, I probably wouldn't have gotten to the second level. However, the mix of levels did make it more fun, and now those levels now had an element of "what will I see next?" motivation to get past them.
I will second AdoitConceptions comment about the avoid fire/get data level going too fast. The second one was fast, and the last one I was amazed I passed it.
The graphics, theme, and music all blend together very well, and part of me wonders if you could weave a story in it all.
Excellent little game!
Haha this was excellent, after the surprise of the first desktop eating scene I couldn't wait to discover what the next two are. All in all if was a thoroughly exciting 5mn game! The cool pixel art, fast-paced action and changes of scenery made it fun from start to finish. I suggest you add a fixed-width font for the in-game text, to shake off the last bits of "unity's default settings" feel.
I have no idea how you could expand on that to make it a bigger game, but if you can manage to turn it into a 60mn experience, with a nice management of the rhythm and storytelling, it feels like the kind of thing you could slap a small price tag on. A bit like a Pony Island actually, except I'd prefer quirky humor and cute dinosaurs over the angry mess on drugs that Pony Island is :D
