Created for Alakajam #3 - Always Growing.
The idea is that you are Gario, a clumsy distant cousin of a famous plumber, that stumble onto a stash of super Mushrooms. After eating a couple of dozens of them, Gario started to feel bigger and bigger.
Control Gario by moving his head, hands and foot by using the mouse pointer and pressing the following keys :
Q : Right hand
W : Head
E : Left hand
A : Right foot
D : Left foot
Try to limit the damage caused by Gario's mistake !
**Since I started the jam 30h hours late, the game is far from completed. I was able to code the basic game mechanic. The idea was to add collateral, other characters that you need to protect, as you try to limit the damage to a minimum.
Funny entry! At this point indeed it's more a toy that really a game with objectives, but it was funny to move
Mario Gario around, make him wave his arms & legs around and overall try to not get stuck below the various walls and ceilings.
The physics behave in a strange but pretty funny way, with his butt not following the rest of his body and his legs being able to float in the air in strange positions for a while. After a while I learnt I could fix the butt issue by making Gario's head wiggle in the air near the limits for a while x)
Anyway the core mechanic is fun, with 30 more hours you would have probably had a pretty cool game.
Neat concept. It would be cool to see some of the other ideas you described implemented, because for now it's kind of just a matter of squishing yourself down as small as possible and waiting. Unless you decide to go rogue, and destroy all the things! I would like to be having to walk around in this clumsy manner while avoiding stepping on toads and intentionally stepping on goombas and whatnot, that could be a lot of fun!
