The Submission period for the 18th Alakajam has come to a close! Now begins the 2 week voting phase, where anybody can play and vote on the entries, regardless if you submitted a game or not. Well done to everyone that made a game, and remember constructive feedback is the most useful. On November 13th voting will end and the results will reveal the winner! (Though as always, making a game in under 72 hours is an acheivment in itself!)

Happy Playing!

The Theme is LABYRINTH

Get ready for Twisting Corridors, Mysterious Dead-ends, and Mind-bending Puzzles, because the theme for the jam is Labyrinth!

Make a Maze! Solve a Puzzle! make a Maze that solves a Puzzle! Whether you want to pull from myth and legend with Minotaurs and deadly traps, or experiment with algorithms that can navigate twists and turns like nobody's business, Take the theme and make any game involving or about a Labyrinth!

You have 48 Hours starting now for the Ranked Jam, or 72 Hours for the more relaxed, Unranked Jam. Also, remember the website has leaderboards built into every submission if you want to enable it, so feel free to make a scoring system so people can compete for the Highest Scores or Fastest Times! (As a bonus, your game might also be picked as a tournament game =P)

Good Luck, and don't get lost in there!

Rules

There are three divisions:

  • Solo, in which you make a whole game alone in 48 hours
  • Team, in which any number of persons can gather to make a game in 48 hours
  • Unranked, a more open division which grants about 72 hours to finish the game. Useful for those not interested in the competitive aspect of the event, want to work on an existing project of theirs, or simply did not finish their game in time.

See the full rules for the Alakajam.

How to enter

All you need to do is:

  • Create an account on this website
  • Publish your game before the deadline
  • A lot of participants also post an "I am in" blog post presenting themselves or their team before the event. Describe what tools and frameworks and engines you will use to create your awesome game! Which themes do you like? Let us and the community know!

If you can, feel free to spread the word about the jam - More Games = More Fun :-)
