You are an adventurer and you are lost in an old mine...
I took advantage of this jam to crunch and release a public version of my game, I hope you'll like it. There is still a lot of work to do but I'm starting to see the end of it!
It's a tribute to the old game Moria (first Roguelike), I even used two or three pieces of code. You have to go to 7 depths before ?!?!#@?.
Controls
Action | Keyboard |
---|---|
Inventory | I |
Map | M |

Menu | ESC |
Launch the game: execute beyondthebridge.jar (or run.bat on Windows, run.sh on Linux/Mac)
Minimal requirement: Java 8
Thank you, I published it as unclassified, you don't necessarily have to follow the theme. It can be another project, just spend some jam time on it.
In my case, I spent the weekend implementing all the spells and graphic effects.
It's intended that spells are not costly, but it's true that I should make the states (like "poisoned" for example) no longer cumulative :).
I hope you had fun with it!
Interesting game, I liked the variety in items and the stats system. I think the interface and game feel could be streamlined a bit though, for instance I couldn't find a way to exit shops without pressing ESC, which is a bit annoying as most of the rest of the game is mouse-only. I also think it'd be nice if there was an option to speed up the game, or to travel a long distance in a single click (over multiple turns). I think you have a solid base though!
This is pretty interesting!

Heya,
I played your game on the stream as well.
and I really liked it! I love your art style!
However, I missed the music to be honest.

I mean, this is a really great game and all, but I see no connection to the Fungi theme. I had luck in that I found the poison spell early on (I play as a dwarf) and that it combos nicely with melee attacks. There seems to be no cost to using magic. Is that on purpose?
