Did... did I get auto-banned from IRC? (and I'm in, I guess) 2

I left the IRC chat open overnight and got up this morning to find some cryptic messages about being temporarily banned from the network for too many connections from one IP, or something like that. Now when I try to rejoin, it gets stuck connecting forever. What the heck happened?

Anyway, I'll probably be using C++/OpenGL and going solo. Once the 48 hours are up, I'll decide whether I want to go unranked based on what I have finished. I'll probably spend a lot of time grappling with OpenGL, so don't expect anything ambitious from me.

if you used the web client, it's a known issue -- all it's users connect to irc via same web server, so that server is flagged as creating too many connections.

if you have a non-web irc client (eg xchat/hexchat) that should work fine :)
