I really enjoyed this game. It was one of the games I streamed playing at https://www.twitch.tv/z_doctor
I loved the graphics and liked the mechanics. I actually like how it threw me into the game with no context and I had to figure out how to play. It seems that that wasn't intentional and had mixed reviews about it, but I liked it. I would love to see more to do with in this game and I can see this in the app store for kids. Perhaps adapting it to an endless growing game people can play on thier free time.
Thanks for your generous rating and review!
There should have been more visual hints to make the features more obvious. Sad to say that our enchanting icons didn't make the alphabert in it stand out. It meant to have 'A', 'B', 'C', and 'D' to mark the sequence.
It was quite enjoying watching your stream on our game. Thank you very much! =)
I also disagree about it being confusing. Well, it is confusing, but sometimes it's fine to let players just figure stuff out. This can be part of the game. However, what I couldn't figure out was why everything I tried to make kept getting burned. It seems just random, or was I doing something wrong?
I eventually made one successful drink, but 51 meters wasn't long enough for our pathetic prince because the guy left his ladder at home. Well, he doesn't deserve me then, does he. Loser.
I like the artwork. It's clean, cute and consistent. The icons at the bottom are pretty clear and distinguishable. Especially the animation at the end made me laugh. One thing to keep in mind next time is the font within the game; basically anything is better than Arial.
Pity there's no sound. Some upbeat background music would have been a great finishing touch.
Seen this type of cooking challenges before, but never with a fairytale setting. That's fresh at least!
Let's start with the positives. The visuals are clean, cute and bright. The only little niggle I have with the graphics is that there are three background textures (grey, wood, white) and that is one too many. Maybe get rid of the wooden one. It does not fit in with the other flat colored assets.
I do have bigger issues to point out though. First there's the GUI. It is very busy! You tried to cram everything on to the screen at the same time, which sometimes is a good idea sure, but here certain things are left outside of the screen anyways so… It doesn't exactly work out.
The mouse controls are cumbersome, having to scroll from left to right all the time. The usage of the varying machines is not very clear either. Especially the mixing pot, which does not, in any way, indicate that it has to be pressed again for the broth to not boil over.
Lastly, there is currently no challenge apart from figuring out the GUI. Usually these cooking challenges allow the cook player to do multiple things at the same time by, say, leaving a brew to boil, while cutting cucumbers and heating up ovens. This way the player needs to keep tabs on many concurrent activities, make choices and avoid mistakes. Here everything is always done in order, consecutively, no multitasking, no risk, no danger, no challenge.
Ok, some suggestions then. I would only show the recipes when next to the cabin, freeing up a lot of space for fancy background graphics and clearing the frame. The princess could move with the keyboard, ridding the GUI of the scrolling buttons. Each activity should have a reaction based challenge and a risk attached. For instance, washing is easy, but if you miss the prompt, due to rushing, it takes twice as long instead; failing an enchantment could transform an ingredient into another; cutting your own finger requires a trip to a medcabin costing time; even the hair growing mystery machine could have a possible downside if used hastily.
Ok effort. Design and GUI need some tweaks.

Took me a while to figure out, especially the mixing bit, but once I did I really enjoyed this a lot! I got to 137m and bagged myself a prince woohoo!
I really like the art and the gameplay. It could do with some clearer indications of how certain things work, and some sound effects and music would really add a lot. But what is there is really good, well done.
Thank you guys for the contructive feedback! And am glad that you guys enjoy some part of it, even when its confusing.
I was supposed to remove the burning mechanic out of the game, but I forgot about it in the end. I agree it was a bad design without any good indicator for it. For some reason, I actually didn't thought of using the keyboard at all, definitely a hindsight of mine.
@hyperlinkyourheart Congrat!! My friend was a little disappointed that no one get to see her prince haha.
I feel like there's a seed of a good idea and the art's cute but the UI is terribly confusing.
