Survive the endless invasions of barbarians
I didn't have enough time to properly join this alakajam, but I started making something anyway since the theme was so good (ahem).
There is still no actual gameplay, but soon (TM) you'll be able to build and upgrade your tower armaments and thus decide your survival.
Made in PICO-8.

Nice start! I tried so very hard to play before I came back and reread your description… That I tried so long to no avail must mean it was engaging. Excited to see more :)
