maze, match3
moving over tiles swaps them if a match is possible. avoid/defeat enemies. vision limited to same room. arrows move. r to restart..
How does one come up with a concept like this one? There's a cool vision system, a variety of abilities, topdown "stealth/action", and then match-3! Why?!
Ok sure, it does kind of work. Avoiding enemies while trying to match just the right colors results in quite the keyboard tango. Having to escape the mad disco house might have worked as an objective.
I don't exactly know where to take something like this. Personally I'd replace the match-3 malarkey with some other resource gathering system, but maybe that is a key feature for you?
Do keep at it; whoever you are, Mysterious Mr/Mrs XyXRQjZj
Mazematch packs a surprising amount of features!
There's little to no handholding in this game, so we're left to discover how things work by trial and deduction, but by the time I reached game over I think I understood everything, despite there being a lot to uncover!
This top-down view of a player triggering match-3 gameplay is a great idea, and I like how it lets you gather resources to trigger skills. A clever mashup of two completely different genres.
I have more mixed feelings about how difficulty progression is handled, ie. by increasing the costs of each skill. It makes the gameplay more and more frustrating as you have to spend time gathering resources, especially the blue ones to actually fight and increase your score.
Otherwise, I'm sure a more polished experience having this balancing problem fixed could turn this interesting entry full of ideas into a really great game. Congrats on your entry!
(NB. My final score is 10!)
