Hey, I have to say I agree with a lot what Taevas said. The platforming works great but the level design has multiple places where I just wasn't sure what to do. After the "leap of faith" I fell down and took damage before the camera even caught up. When I finally saw what was going on there was a massive goblin that killed me…
The platforming and mood seem really great! It's nice to see a settings section. I don't usually have time for such things :D
Btw, should this be in the Open division instead of Team division due to this rule:
Graphical asset reuse: You must make all your graphical assets during the event, even if you opt-out of the graphics category.
My experience with this game hasn't been very good, so I'll do my best at giving some feedback:
I felt somewhat deceived by this game's list of features, for example I found no way to actually manipulate gravity, so when I encountered those white blocks that were high up, the only way I found to challenge gravity was through dashing then jumping so to essentially jump through the air infinitely. I'm actually still not sure whether or not that was intended, I tried using the WS keys of WASD but it didn't seem like they were doing anything.
The combat didn't feel good because I was never sure if I was actually hitting the enemies or not, a health bar or red flashing could've easily helped with that!
The idea of having a sprint button when you can dash is bad, because a sprint button has essentially no use in such a game. Make the default walking speed the speed of sprinting!
Two QoL things related to respawning would be some way to tell the player has reached a checkpoint (lit the related lantern or give a text notification) and having it so the Orb doesn't repeat lines that have already been read. Maybe also not allowing the player to move while dialogue is there, and going through dialogues with buttons instead of (or in addition to) mouse clicks?
Anyway, please don't let that not-so-positive comment discourage you, managing to submit something that works for a 48h game jam when you have little game dev experience is already better than what most people can do!
