There are a lot of things i havent added such as
please suggest some gameplay ideas!
Controls
A - Left
D - right
Space - Jump
R - Reload
Left Click - Shoot
I like the overall gameplay, using platforms to block shots and peeking out to shoot at enemies. I also like collecting the gold coins to buy upgrades after I die, it adds some renewability, however I didn't have any kind of objective, and for the time I played it, see no increasing challenge or bosses.
The screenshake was a bit too much for me, it's kind of disorienting.
Most platforms are far too high, I am unable to reach any of them even with the double jump. Only after buying another jump could I reach them, which can actually provide some interesting progression if you only have the one level. Unlock more jumps to reach higher areas, which you can use to get bigger guns, perhaps? or more gold. If you want to go down that route, but it offers some options for progression inside the level itself.
What is the giant purple orb? It looks like something I should shoot, since it's the same colour as the enemy projectiles, but it doesn't do anything. I didn't like needing to shoot the ammo boxes, especially because if I run out of ammo it means I'm practically dead already.
I didn't realize the shop button was there until after playing like 3 times and wondering what money was for.

The player seems really pixelated compared to eveything else. Graphics is a weak point. Also, bullets look weird. But the effects like jump particles are a good addition.

There is a lot. You probably know about them already, but I'm writing it down anyways
Gameplay ideas
If you want to take my advice, add double jumps, add melee attack that pushes you forward mid-air, add walljumps, make the player faster, fix jump issues, make platforms move down constantly and appear on top, add moving enemies, make enemies the source of score, and you have a really good action packed game.
But even if you don't take my advice on this, movement is key.
